TutHell 50K
The TutHell 50K is a unique and challenging ultramarathon where participants run a 0.31-mile loop up and down the grassy Tut Hill 100 times, totaling 50 kilometers with approximately 90 feet of elevation gain and loss per loop. This event emphasizes community, endurance, and charity, as runners submit an essay to gain entry, explaining their motivation to race. Selected runners receive an invitation to register via Ultrasignup. The race features a fully stocked aid station, official chip timing, live tracking, and encourages runners to bring a personal support crew. Instead of a traditional registration fee, participants pledge charitable donations that are pooled and awarded to the winning runners' chosen charities, with a 2026 fundraising goal of $10,000. The course starts near the large tree by the bathrooms at the hilltop, follows a single track downhill, traverses the flat grassy area, and ascends the right side of the hill back to the start, creating a demanding yet rewarding race experience. The event fosters camaraderie by asking all entrants to stay until the final runner completes or reaches the cutoff time of 10 hours and 7 minutes, making the TutHell 50K an inspiring test of physical and mental stamina that supports meaningful causes.
